CCW Permit Procedure
Applications available at the Rockwood Police/Fire Dispatch Center or on the web at MSP.
REQUIREMENTS: A completed application, gun class certificate, passport quality photo 1" x 1 1/2", $105.00 application fee, and a copy of your driver's license. All of the above must be taken to the Wayne County Clerks Office in Detroit to apply. *Applicant is responsible for copies.
By appointment only. Finger Prints applicants bring their receipt, which has a control number on it, to the police department for finger printing. Applicant must pay a $15.00 finger print processing fee and fill out the attached Criminal History Request form.
Wayne County Clerks Office is located at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, 2 Woodward Ave. Detroit on the 2nd floor between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
If not a US born citizen applicant will need a copy of their "Naturalization Certificate".
RENEWAL: For an individual licensed after July 1, 2001, and subsequently applying for a renewal:
A CCW license is renewed in the same manner as the original license, including fingerprints The cost for a renewal license is $105. Pistol safety training course is not required.
Applicant shall present a statement signed by the applicant certifying that he/she has:
Completed at least three (3) hours of review of the pistol safety training course and has at least one (1) hour of firing range time in the 6 months immediately preceding the renewal application.
